Surreal, stop-motion short about a young woman who rips up her floorboards and discovers an eerily familiar world on the floor below.

This piece took a few years to complete as I did it in bits rather than in one grand effort. It started with the animation of the two people on the bottom floor and grew from there.
The original title was going to be “Root” because the object that she pulls up from the hole was supposed to look like a root and the piece is about one’s “roots”, so to speak. The visual and conceptual connection between the woman on the 2nd floor and the woman on the 1st floor also serves to address that theme.
