The codec is quicktime’s H.264 .mov set to greyscale with no audio compression.

I don’t know what half these things mean and im not sure why it doesn’t get screwed up by youtube’s encoding, but this gets a 1.3 gb down to 80 mb

just to clarify: you upload it at 1920×1080? (I thought youtube had a 320×240 rule?)

youtube will resize anything over 320×240, but it won’t stop you from uploading it if its under 100mb.
