Small Cascade for a Large City
Title: Small Cascade for a Large City
Artist: Nick Tobier, UM faculty
Runtime: 5:39
Views: 609
Description:

A uniformed corp of wading pool attendants turn their tools to celebrate, turning everyday tasks and an everyday pool into an aquatic extravaganza.

Artist's notes:

I've had a long interest in both uniforms and work tasks--how on one hand these can both be seen as rote and repetitive, but on the other, just like an instrument or a movement, repetition brings elegance and perhaps playfulness.
My work is chiefly centered around creating scenarios that have the potential to transform an otherwise everyday or overlooked place into something extraordinary.
