A designer with a strong personal touch, Kiki van Eijk represents the new generation of Dutch designers. Her playful work balances concept, material, structure and technique in projects that include carpets, lighting, furniture, ceramics, glassware and luxurious textiles. Van Eijk confirms that, “l like to tell absurdist stories while using very high craft standards. I’m searching for the freedom of the playing child. It’s often a play between disfunctionality and functionality, and logics and nonlogics.” In addition to her own collection, her clients include Hermes, Studio Edelkoort Paris, Design Academy Eindhoven, Skitsch, Moooi, Forbo Flooring, Venice Projects, Audax Textile Museum and many more. Her work is published internationally in publications including Wallpaper, Elle Decor, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, de Architect, Icon Magazine, Glamour and The International Design Year Book.
