Sewer Foamies: Cheriton Light Festival
On Feb 23 and 24, 2014, Roland Graf’s artist collective Assocreation presented a new “ground-penetrating” public art piece at the Cheriton Light Festival in Folkestone, UK. In this installation, illuminated foam oozes out of the drains on Cheriton/Surrenden Rd ready for pedestrians to interact with. This foam-spill, for which Assocreation also collaborated with SWAMP, highlights the moments our urban environment is out of control – when culture and nature act like two dispersed media – two media that do not mix and create a foamy substance instead.
